Comfort and relaxation are the priorities for your holiday at our affordable, four-bedroom, five-bathroom villa in Candidasa. Beautifully appointed, this villa is perfectly located directly on the Candidasa seafront with stunning ocean views.
With its ideal white sand beach location, and eastern Bali’s year-round warm weather, it has been designed to maximise both indoor and outdoor living.
VILLA SETTING
Villa Cocoa Maya is directly on a white sand beach in Candidasa, a small coastal town in eastern Bali with just the right balance between things to do and relaxation. It is a 90-minute drive from the Ngurah Rai International Airport and a 15-minute drive from the ferry terminal at Padangbaai, which services Lombok and the Gili Islands.
With the villa being set at the bottom of a quiet lane, it’s a leisurely five-minute walk into town where there is a good selection of restaurants, supermarkets and shops. The villa is also within easy striking distance of most of the sights that our guests like to visit while in eastern Bali.

Villa Cocoa Maya is ideally suited to families, groups of friends, reunions and celebrations – all in an idyllic beachfront location.
Although there is no obligation to eat at the villa, Villa Cocoa Maya is catered and fully staffed. It is not a self-catering villa. Breakfasts are complimentary and you can choose other meals off our reasonably priced, varied à la carte menu.
ACCOMMODATION
The villa has four large bedroom suites ranging in size from 60m²-160m². Each suite has a bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fan, free WiFi, a mini fridge and stunning ocean views! The villa sleeps 10 people in beds and up to 12 people with two extra mattresses.
We offer a complimentary infant cot, and a cot for toddlers (as well as a high chair). Villa Cocoa Maya is rented to only one group at a time.
With the beautiful weather that Candidasa offers, much of your holiday will be spent outdoors. The villa offers outdoor dining for 12, an 18-metre long infinity pool, a large, flat garden, sun loungers, an outdoor lounge and a comfortable Balinese bale (gazebo).
Your most stressful decision at Villa Cocoa Maya will be where to have your morning coffee!
The spacious open-plan lounge and dining area has comfortable sofas. There is a flat screen Smart TV both in the Garden Suite and outside in the Games Room. The latter also has a pool table and music system.
The lounge has been designed with relaxation in mind – stretch out, relax with a book or be lulled by the ocean…
Each of Villa Cocoa Maya’s four bedroom suites has its own lounge area and en-suite bathroom. Each suite also has:

- A bar fridge
- Mini safe and hairdryer
The bedrooms have the best quality mattresses and high thread count linen.
Rates for Villa Cocoa Maya
Rates are for 6 or fewer guests. US $30 per person per night extra up to twelve people. Children four years and under stay free. We provide a complimentary traveling cot and a high chair. Minimum 2-night stay.

THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA
Candidasa (pronounced Chundidussa), with its village atmosphere, is a far cry from the rampant tourism of southern Bali. Yet it still offers excellent restaurants, shops and many of Bali’s most important historical landmarks.
The area is typified by dry, warm weather, a beautiful warm ocean with incredible marine life, as well as mountains, rice terraces, indigenous forests, temples and palaces.
A stay in Candidasa is a stay in the Bali of old – where traffic is not an issue, and relaxation is easy to come by!
Adrenalise with white water rafting
White water rafting is a fun way to see Bali’s beautiful riverine scenery while enjoying a shot of adrenaline! There are three main rivers for rafting with different categories of rapids – something for everyone.
Cycle off the beaten track
A great way to see the region is to get off the beaten track and cycle through the magnificent scenery of eastern Bali.
Various operators offer a variety of tours ranging from easy to a really good workout!
Explore in our sea kayaks
We have three kayaks at the villa, two singles kayaks and one ‘family’ kayak which has three seats. You’re very welcome to explore the coastline using the kayaks.
Get spiritual at Besakih temple
Besakih Temple, Bali’s Hindu Mother Temple, is about an hour’s drive from the villa, through beautiful scenery.
Besakih is the holiest and most important sacred site in Bali. The complex consists of 23 temples located one thousand metres up the slopes of the volcano Mount Agung, the tallest mountain in Bali.
Ceremonies at Besakih, of which there are many, are a particularly spectacular sight.
Trek the nearby rice paddies
There is beautiful rice field, hill and mountain trekking available around Tirtagangga and Tenganan Bali Aga village – approximately 4km from the villa.
It’s best to take a guide so that you stick to the right paths (our staff can organise it for you).
This is sure to be a highlight of your stay at Villa Cocoa Maya.
Swim in crystal clear rock pools
Tirtagangga has two beautiful, natural stone, fresh water pools that are crystal clear and wonderfully refreshing.
Take your swimming costume if you go trekking (or even if you just visit) and end it with a dip.
Learn to surf Indo
For experienced surfers Jasri, about 15-20 minutes from the villa, has good surfing at high tide.
At low tide you can take surfing lessons. Proceeds from surfing lessons support the orphanage that is run at the surf school.
Enjoy an in-house massage
There is a massage bed at the villa. Our villa manager is an experienced masseuse so you can enjoy a massage whenever you like.
Cook like a Balinese…
If cooking is your thing, there are excellent cooking courses available in the area.
Drive through scenic Sideman
Eastern Bali has the most beautiful scenery on the island and a drive through the Sideman area (famous for its single and double Ikat weaving) is a very worthwhile trip.
Enjoy local & international cuisine
Candidasa has a variety of restaurants worth visiting – ranging from fine dining and traditional Balinese cuisine to pizza.
Climb Mount Agung
About an hour’s drive from Villa Cocoa Maya lies the volcano, Mount Agung, Bali’s highest and holiest mountain.
It takes about 3-7 hours to ascend depending on which route you choose. Not for the faint hearted, you need to be physically fit – preferably with trekking experience. A guide is compulsory.
Visit quirky Tirtagangga
Tirtagangga (Water of the Ganges) is a beautiful water palace which belongs to the royal family of Karangasem.
It is an easy 30-minute drive from Villa Cocoa Maya through beautiful rice paddies, with excellent views of Bali’s biggest volcano, Mount Agung.
Boat to beautiful Blue Lagoon
There are beautiful white sand beaches in the Candidasa region and the one at Blue Lagoon is no exception.
It has great snorkelling, diving and swimming and is easily reached from the villa within 10-15 minutes by either boat or road.
Go back in time with the Bali Aga
The isolated Bali Aga people, who are the original Balinese, date back thousands of years.
The Bali Aga still speak a dialect that is entirely their own. Tenganan, just 4kms from the villa, is an excellent example of a Bali Aga village – only one of two left on the island.
Enjoy snorkelling right off the beach
The coral reefs directly in front of the villa allow for the presence of beautiful and diverse fish in warm swimming water.
If you prefer, the local fishermen can take you snorkelling further afield at the little islands just off the coastline, or at Blue Lagoon at Padangbaai, or further east at White Sand Beach.
There is limited snorkelling gear at the villa which you are welcome to use during your stay. It is also possible to hire equipment in town.
Delight in the world-class diving
The area around Nusa Penida (approximately 20 minutes by boat from the villa) is considered by many to provide the most exciting, and diverse, diving anywhere in the world.
A 100% exchange of water between the eastern Indian Ocean and the western Pacific gives rise to an incredible diversity of fish rarely seen elsewhere.
Cocoa Maya is one of the few villas in Candidasa where the diving companies can collect you on the beach directly in front of the house.
Succumb to the region’s spas
Bali is deservedly well known for its beautiful spas. There are plenty of options in Candidasa, priced for all budgets, including the beautiful luxury spas at the Amankila and the Alila hotels.
Relax at White Sand Beach
This beautiful beach has good snorkelling and excellent warungs (traditional restaurants) where you can eat grilled fish or seafood caught fresh that morning. There are umbrellas and sun beds to laze on.
Reached via a scenic 15-minute boat trip directly from the villa, or by road.
